So many responses to awards on social media

Whether it was tweets or Facebook messages, Echo readers galore took to social media to talk about the awards.

And you agreed it was an amazing night in which champions got their rewards.

Sam Blacklock posted: “Really enjoyed tonight’s @ Sunderland­Echo Best of Wearside Awards at the SOL. Some fantastic nomination­s and winners in Wearside #EchoBest

Richard Tamlyn had this to say about the six courageous children who became winners. “Stars of the night, inspiratio­nal heroes everyone of them. The #echobest children of courage winners.”

Jay Hutchinson joined in and, like many of his fellow guests, thought everyone deserved an honour. He said: “#EchoBest I hope u could all win the award.”

Fat-Dad-Getting-Fit: “An amazing night at pride of Sunderland #echobest unbelievab­le night for unbelievab­le people.”

Glynis Wylie: “Well done @mattwylie9­6 @sunderland­asc @eaSundAqua­tic @ asanorthea­st @britishswi­mming winner Best of Wearside Sporting Achievemen­t #echobest.”

And there were plenty of Facebook posts too.

Lynn Murphy said: “It was an amazing night, all the nominees where fantastic x x”

Lots of you had plenty to say about Kevin Ball winning the Lifetime Contributi­on Award.

Colin Burnikell: “Legend if ever there was one, well done Kevin – congratula­tions to a fantastic man.”

Jim Bowens: “You more than most are one of us you wore our colours with pride played with unrivalled passion.”

Steven Fisher: “Remember that screamer from the halfway line ten minutes into injury time at Wolves Kevin ? Fantastic away day that was. LEGEND.”

Leigh Tough Toughie: “Well deserved? Ooo Bally Bally.”
