Tributes to ‘lovely man’ as city learns of boss’s death

The sudden death of Martyn Young has prompted an outpouring of support for his friends and family.

As news of the tragedy broke, people sent their condolence­s to his loved ones as they also shared their memories of the “true gent.”

Alison Brown said: “I’m so shocked by this news.

“Martyn, Donna and Louise were a great help to me several years ago.

“He was a lovely man and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

“My thoughts are with his family and colleagues at this time.

Philip King added; “Devastatin­g news. “Such a top bloke. “Thoughts are with his family.”

Mark Walker said: “Met him a couple of years ago and he was a true gent, thoughts are with his family.”

Cameron Howell, posting on Facebook, added: “Brilliant boss and a pleasure to work with.

“Always chipped in and helped, even though he didn’t have to. “RIP Marty.” Ken Teears wrote: “Such tragic news, Martyn was a lovely bloke.

“Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends. “Taken too soon.” James Burman added: “A really lovely man. “Rest in peace.” Cathy Thomas said: “What a tragedy. “Condolence­s to all the family.”

Emma McKendrick said: “Oh my goodness. “Such a tragedy.

“Thoughts with the family at this sad time.”

John Sutherland said: “I remember him from scouts many years since, very sad.”
