STORY: Restoration plans for Sunderland landmark almost complete

Kev Miller: Personally, I’d love to see the gatehouse restored, with a hall put in, couple of hotel rooms and put another building to the side to be used as a hotel, restaurant, weddings etc. I think there’s a gap in the market for a wedding venue in Sunderland.

Rob Cogdon: Finally, the steps forward this great historic landmark needs. Bring it back to its former glory and make it an educational and family site again. Love this place.
