Brooke and Winthrop double up to dazzle Detached in romp
Ryhope Top House shocked Premier side Farringdon Detached with an emphatic 6-1 win to advance in the Total Sport Challenge Trophy.
Elliot Tench, Carl Young, Paul Brooke’s brace and a Josh Winthrop double won it for the Ryhope side, while Davey Stevens replied.
Thorney Close Inn legend Paul Hodgson found the net against Premier club Myers.
But his joy was shortlived as Myers star Adam Drysdale popped up with a devastating double to clinch a 2-1 win. Keeper Martin Jackson shone for Thorney.

Paul Muir came off the bench to reply, but it was too little too late for Southwick, whose starvman was Jake Fowler. Kyran Whitehead was outstanding for Paragon.
Sunderland Railway Club ran out impressive 5-3 winners against The Victory Club to consolidate third place in Division Two.
Railway had the ideal start, Anth Rogerson slotting home Dean Smith’s excellent through ball after two minutes. Rogerson soon added a second, putting him top of the division’s goalscorer chart.
The Victory Club piled on the pressure but missed some good chances and Railway capitalised, with Rogerson setting up debutant Smith, signed from Premier club The Ashbrooke, to clinically make it3-0.
Smith won a 50-50 with the keeper to add a fourth goal before Victory responded well with a Dean Machin brace.
A mistake at the back led to a 45-yard finish into an open net, quickly followed by a screamer of a finish from the outside the box.
Sub Andrew Steele showed excellent feet to beat three defenders and power home tRailway’s fifth goal, before Scott Hunter’s delightful lob reduced the deficit late on.
Star Daniel Tough put his body on the line many a time to ensure Railway’s success.

Washington Colliery had to work hard for their 3-2 win at Cherry Tree, climbing into second place in the process.

Hendon Athletic succumbed 3-1 to AFC Wearside.
Jesse Cutter put Athletic in front after a great spell of dominance, then injuries hit Hendon hard and AFC Wearside took advantage. Josh Campbell bagged a double and a late Richard Wright put the game to bed. James Gollagly starred for AFC, with Bri Carter best for the visitors.
Washington New Tavern drew 0-0 at Pennywell Comrades, with Shaun Davies their star performer.
