GLAMPING MAKEOVER: A Royal Navy helicopter pilot has paid a flying visit to his former aircraft to see its transformation into an unusual holiday home.

Lieutenant Commander Andy “Tank” Murray and his crew stopped off to visit the Sea King near Stirling as they flew north to take part in a training exercise.

Stirling farmer Martyn Steedman and his wife Louise bought the Sea King for £7,000 in an online Ministry of Defence (MoD) auction last March and have spent nearly £40,000 from start to finish converting it into glamping accommodation. INTO THE NIGHT:

Tate Britain will be opening its doors until midnight for the first time to cope with demand for its David Hockney exhibition.

The retrospective on the 79-year-old British painter has been one of the most popular shows in the gallery’s history. TELL-TALE SIGNS:

Tiny eye movements can reveal if a person is lying when they claim not to know another individual, research has shown.

The discovery could help police infiltrate underworld gangs or terrorist cells.

TAKE A HIKE: A college student who was stranded for five days near the Grand Canyon said she began making farewell videos for her family as she grew desperate for help.

Amber VanHecke, 24, said she was trying to find an Arizona hiking trail but was led astray by her maps app, and ended up in the middle of nowhere with an empty petrol tank. She said nobody reported her missing because of a miscommunication with her family.

After making large help signs and trying to start a signal fire, she hiked for miles to a spot where she briefly found a mobile phone signal, and rescuers eventually found her abandoned car.
