Tree to help grow funds for charity
Businesses on Wearside can support vital children’s respite centre Grace House thanks to a new fund-raising tool.
Bosses at the Southwick centre revealed their corporate tree at a celebration event with some of the first businesses who have signed up to their new corporate packages.
The tree, which is nearly three-metres tall, is a focal point in the reception area of Grace House.
During the event, key people from each organisation placed their leaf on the tree, displaying their company’s logo, which will be seen by the many people who visit the centre.
The corporate packages have already in a short space of time attracted support from Gentoo, HLA Services, Gravity Force, Simon Berry Optometrist, ACA Financial services, Pickwick Cross, Highly Efficient Heating, Brack Office Supplies and Green Trousers.
The packages also include virtual sponsorship of a room, employee volunteering days, use of meeting rooms and networking opportunities
Michelle Meldrum, executive director (operations) at Gentoo, said: “As one of our corporate charities, we are proudly raising funds for them through an array of events this year.”
Neil Henry, HLA’s service and maintenance manager, said: “HLA Services are proud to support Grace House as we believe it provides an essential service, not only to the parents and children of Sunderland, but the parents and children of disabled children throughout the North East.”
Grace House business development manager, Jane Lertas-Robinson said: “We are very excited to be unveiling our corporate tree and truly grateful to the businesses that have supported us with this campaign so far.
