Bookies’ help a banker for charities

-

William Hill colleagues in Sunderland have been supporting two local charities as part of the company’s first ever International Community Week.

The Sunderland team have been helping at Hospitality and Hope, based in South Shields, offering help to vulnerable individuals in crisis, where the group already volunteer to serve breakfast to those in need on a weekly basis.

Teams have also been collecting food tin donations and put their own spin on ‘Donald Trump’s Mexican Wall theme’ by building a wall of donations to be transferred to the foodbank.

They also spent the Wednesday and Thursday preparing food and cleaning the kitchens at the charity’s base.

To round off the community week, the team supported local charity Daisy Chain, which provides support for children and families affected by autism.

The William Hill employees got stuck in by helping out in the charity’s superstore and farm on the Friday of the week.

Colleagues from William Hill across eight countries and four continents spent the week volunteering as part of the company’s community commitment, Close to HOME, which looks to support the local communities where the firm is based.
