City of Sunderland ASC Masters secured 21 medals at the Billingham Masters Gala, including six golds.

Conor Crozier led the way with two golds in the 25-29 years category, putting in a pair of fantastic swims to win the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke events.

He also picked up a silver medal in the 50m butterfly.

The club’s veteran swimmers impressed, as usual, in the 60+ years section.

Dave Hills had a meet to savour, with a gold medal and four silvers.

He triumphed in the 50m butterfly, while finishing as runner-up in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley.

Norman Stephenson secured one gold, three silvers and three bronzes – and finished fourth in his other event.

He won the 200m freestyle, adding second places in the 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle.

Chris Toop put in a fantastic swim in the 400m freestyle, coming first in his 40-44 years age group.

He was also third in the 50m butterfly and posted creditable results in the 50m freestyle (fifth) and 100m individual medley (fourth).

Neil Shutt’s 100m breaststroke efforts earned him a brilliant first place finish in the 40-44 section, adding a silver in the 100m medley and a bronze in the 50m freestyle.

His dad, Graeme Shutt, came home in second place in the 100m backstroke in the 60+ category. He also finished third in the 50m backstroke, as well as ending up fifth in the 200m backstroke and sixth in the 100m medley.
