Super spirit driving on reborn Hull
Hull City will not stop scrapping for their Premier League future, despite finally escaping the drop zone on Wednresday.
The Tigers climbed above Swansea into fourthbottom spot on 30 points with their thrilling 4-2 win over Middlesbrough.
They face a tough task at Manchester City tomorrow, but midfielder Sam Clucas is loving life at Hull, and an impressive togetherness since the appointment of Marco Silva as boss in January. “We’ve got great team spirit,” Clucas said.
“The players on the bench who come on are really fighting for their shirt and that’s brilliant at this time of the season.
“One word we picked out before the game, and I think the gaffer wrote it on the board, was ‘togetherness’ and we’ve really got that going into the games and you can see that when we go behind.”
Hull rallied to beat West Ham last weekend, and doing it again, against Boro, was a big confidence booster ahead of the trip to take on Pep Guardiola’s City.
“It’s massive,” added Clucas, whose enterprise in midfield has helped ease the loss of Tom Huddlestone, who sits out the final game of a three-match ban tomorrow.
“We’ve put back-toback wins together coming towards the last few games and we pin-pointed these last two we’ve just had.
“They were two we could possibly get six points from, we’ve got good form at home, because we’ve got a tough fixture at Man City on Saturday.”
