Gary Stockton got Seaham Conservati­ves A off to an excellent start away at leaders Washington Snooker in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League, beating Stephen Thompson 62-24.

Gavin Dixon won a close second frame beating Michael Monaghan on the final black 58-54 before Les Pinder moved Seaham back into the lead beating Norman Leslie 72-38.

Roful Hoque and Ian Hughes had a tussle in the fourth frame with Roful potting a respotted black to win the frame 51-44 before Gavin Dixon and Norman Leslie won the pairs, beating Gary Stockton and Robert Cougle 76-41 for the 3-2 win.

Whitburn started strongly away at The Victory with Mark Fox winning a high scoring first frame against John Butler 85-67. Darren Dowell potted well to level the match beating Graeme Ablett 57-20 before Joe Cromby moved Whitburn back into the lead beating Gerry Porter 90-39.

John Smith won the fourth frame against Ray James 79-41 before teaming up with Mark Fox to win the pairs, beating Ray James and Darren Dowell 62-31 for the 4-1 win.

A 47 break helped Adam Smith get South Hylton off to a good start at home to Glendale winning the first frame against Thomas Gwyn 79-18 before Graham Rutland won the second frame beating John Danby 60-48. Paul Atkinson pulled one back for Glendale beating Ian Stewart 66-40 before John Wiseman levelled the match winning the fourth frame against Kevin Harrop 74-38.

In the pairs, a 40 break by Adam Smith, when paired with Bobby Boyce, helped win the frame beating Frank McParlin and John Danby 9228 for the 3-2 win.

The match between Steels and Lumley alternated into a 2-2 situation before Steels took the pairs for the overall 3-2 result.

Tommy Are won the first frame against Sean Henderson 75-24 before Brian Meuse levelled, winning the second frame 76-55. Ray Charlton Junior quickly moved Steels back into the lead winning the third frame against Glen Edwards 79-25 before Jimmy Jackson won the fourth frame beating Vince Flynn 56-29.

In the pairs, Ray Charlton Junior and Senior beat Brian Meuse and Sean Henderson 52-6 for the win.

Biddick B welcomed Murton Colliery and got off to a good start with Michael Simpson winning the first frame against Ryan Lowes 77-16 and Peter Mills winning the second frame against Stephen Clementson 53-26. Eddie Williamson pulled one back, beating Trevor Walton 74-69 before John Temple won the fourth frame against Jackson Mason 34-28.

In the pairs, Jackson Mason and Eddie Williamson beat Philip Straughan and Paul Cobb 59-40 to reduce the defeat to 3-2.
