Echo readers hit back of the net with season card wins

-

Echo readers have scored free season cards for SAFC.

We have 30 season cards to give away for the next season at the Stadium of Light and have been giving away three pairs a week to readers who’ve collected the tokens in their papers.

The winners from week three, who each collected six tokens to win, were Kathleen and husband Edwin Seddon from Oxclose in Washington, Anthony Vipond from Washington and Malcom Stewart from Houghton.

Kathleen, 65, was delighted with the win.

She said: “We used to have season tickets when the Stadium of Light first opened, but we’re pensioners now and we haven’t been able to afford to keep it up so winning this is a big help.

“We’ve always supported them though, we’ve said we’ll support them even if they were in the Sunday League.

“We’ve really admired Jermain Defoe this past season and what he’s been like with Bradley Lowery.”

Malcolm Stewart, 78, says he’s a long-term supporter of the club and was delighted to be able to go for free next season.

Anthony Vipond, 45, said although it was “bad times” at the club at the minute, the season card win had helped soften the blow.

The final token for week five is on today’s page 3.

The final week of the competition will begin in Monday’s Echo and will be the last chance to win one of three pairs of season cards.

You will need six tokens, which will appear each day next week to be in with a chance of winning. The cards are worth £700 a pair.
