Man exposed himself in street
DRUNK PULLED DOWN HIS TROUSERS AND PROPOSITIONED WOMEN
A drunk exposed himself in a city centre street and aggressively approached random women.
John Peter Thomas Davison was seen acting aggressively in Park Lane, Sunderland, at about 1am on April 21, Sunderland magistrates heard.
The 32-year-old then pulled down his tracksuit bottoms and exposed himself while propositioning women.
Prosecutor Laura Johnson said a witness had just left The Point when he saw Davison walking along the road from Park Lane.
“He believed he was drunk,” Ms Johnson said.
“He was shouting at people, but was difficult to understand due to the alcohol he had consumed – but he appeared aggressive and threatening.
“Just after the witness had seen him, the defending pulled down his trackrather suit bottoms and exposed his privates.
“He held it in his right hand.
“He walked towards two females and asked them to perform a sex act on him, to which one replied ‘I‘d be dead’. He approached another female and told her ‘come here’, to which she responded ‘put it away’.
“He put it away and police arrived shortly after.”
The court heard Davison was arrested and some cannabis was found in his sock.
Davison, of Thorndale Road, Thorney Close, pleaded guilty to outraging public decency by behaving in an indecent manner.
Ian Jordan, defending, said: “Mr Davison is utterly ashamed of his behaviour.
“He is remorseful and he would like me to apologise to the people he offended.
“He was taken by the demon drink.
“He can recall very, very little related to his arrest.
“He doesn’t wish to challenge the version of events, but he can recall little of it.
“It is entirely out of character – he has no sexual offences on his record.”
Mr Jordan added: “Nobody has been pursued and at that time no children were around.
“He’s not a regular drinker, but when he does drink he binges and drinks to excess.
“April is the anniversary of his mother and father’s passing.”
The case was adjourned until May 30, for a pre-sentence report to be prepared and Davison was released on bail.
