Alex, Greg inspire Philadelphia Under-18 success

Philadelphia got the better of Ryhope by 49 runs in their Durham Cricket Board Under-18 League Division Two showdown.

Openers Alex Davison (43) and Greg Halliday (39) inspired Phili to 113-5, with Luke Robinson adding 14. Graham Pickering grabbed 2-21 and Ricki Mendonca also struck.

Ryhope struggled to 64-9 in reply, with only Jake Liddle reaching double figures.

Jonny Lavery (3-8), Luke Robinson (3-13) and Ben Johnson (2-9) were the pick of Phili’s bowlers.

Burnmoor lost by 92 runs to Castle Eden.

Ben Simpson (110no) and Unsworth (38) led Castle Eden to 169-1 before Moor were all out for 77.

Chester-le-Street ran out nine-wicket Division One winners against Boldon, who made 114-5 in their 20 overs.

Joe Maddison (46), Joe Forster (34) and Nathan Hewitt (23) starred for Bolton, with Aaradhya Tiwari taking 2-16.

In reply, openers Scott Robson (47) and Luke Allen (54no) set up Chester’s victory in 13.5 overs.

Peterlee won their derby against Easington by 88 runs.

Peterlee made 135-6 as Ben Brown (71), K. Buck (31) and K. Allison (18) shone, with two wickets apiece for Ryan Lincoln-Barrow, Luke Ramshaw and J. Robinson.

Despite 23 from B. Robinson, Easington were dismissed for 47 as Lonsdale and Buck both struck twice.

Sacriston saw off South Shields by 63 runs after Dominic Scott’s 101 not out led them to 204-3, supported by Matthew Brown (40no) and Nathan Hall (28).

Shields responded with 141-6, with Adam May (42no) and Shea Clements (28) topscoring. Tommy Bell snaffled 3-14 and Ross Cordner 2-28.

Burnmoor conceded their Under-15 Ken Ferguson Memorial Trophy tie to Eppleton.

In the South West Divi- sion’s U15 Bob Pendlebury Cup, the final will see Willington up against Esh Winning.

Nathan Todd hit a half-century as Esh made 167-5 against Ushaw Moor, who were then restricted to 101-9, with O’Neil (27) top-scoring. Ben McKenna and Jack Hall both struck twice.

In the other semi, Kieran Gillham reached 32 not out in Tudhoe’s 78-2, but Jake Thompson (32no) guided Willington home by seven wickets.
