Wood so close to 30 average

Tony Wood was is sensationa­l form in the Knack Premier League as he walloped Will Neave 5-0.

He recorded a 29.82 average, aided by three 180s and winning legs of 15, 16 (x2), 17 and 20 darts.

He couldn’t repeat that form in his second game as he was thumped 5-0 by Paul Williams, who averaged 27.22.

Arran Samuels had a good week, picking up seven of a possible nine points.

He coasted past Dougie Hall 5-1 including a 103 finish before smashing ‘Silver Fox’ Andrew Ambler 5-0 with a brilliant 167 finish in a 12-dart leg.

Samuels then drew with John Watson, whose highlight was a 110 finish.

Watson beat Richard Selby 5-3 in his first game of the night before drawing 4-4 with Spiller Henderson in a high quality match.

Graham Mullen got himself into the top 10 after beating Darren Patton 5-2 and Dan Gillibrand 5-1.

Chris Vaughan was a comfortabl­e 5-0 winner over Anth Skelton and then drew with Rob McCluskey who hit a 104 finish and a brace of 18-dart legs.

McCluskey followed up by beating Ross Guy 5-1 with a brace of 17 and 20-dart legs.

Paul McGowan beat Graeme Hills 5-1,l with Hills doing well to then beat Eddie Ashman 5-3.

Ashman was an easy 5-0 winner in his other game against Matthew Hodgson; hitting a maximum and best legs of 15 and 17 darts on route to victory.

Dan Gillibrand and Ryan Joyce were both 5-0 winners over Anthony Gale on the night.

Leader Joyce followed up with another comfortabl­e 5-0 win over Darren Patton and a 5-1 win over David Brown which saw Joyce record a 29.47 average.

Will Neave hit a finish of 100 in a 17-dart leg in a 5-3 win over Andrew Ambler.

Allen George recorded a 29.12 average in a 5-0 rout of Ross Guy in his first game of the night; hitting winning legs of 14, 16, 18 (x2) and 20 darts.

George then played Richard Selby in his second game of the night and succumbed to a 5-3 defeat in a high quality match.

Paul Williams thumped Davy Richardson 5-1 in his second game of the night which featured a maximum each and finishes of 102 and 120 for Williams and winning legs of 15 (x2), 18, 19 and 20 darts.

Richardson mended his ways in his second game against Neil Rose as he strolled to a 5-2 win.

Rose then went onto play Spiller Henderson. Henderson had the scoring power but Rose was the one hitting the all-important doubles and he eventually took the game 5-3.

Anth Skelton beat David Brown 5-3 aided by a couple of 180s. Davey Thompson beat Alan Smith 5-0 which featured a maximum and best legs of 13 and 17 darts from Thompson.

Thompson then beat Philly Dunn 5-1, hitting a 104 finish and best legs of 15, 17, 18 and 19 darts on route.

Alan Smith was beaten 5-1 by Matthew Hodgson in the pair’s second game.

Philly Dunn beat Paul McGowan 5-2 in his second game with a solid display and a little help from McGowan bursting 131. Dunn hit best legs of 15, 18 and 19 darts.
