Anderlecht keen on Magpie Krul

-

Tim Krul could exit St James’s Park this summer – with Belgian outfit Anderlecht keeping tabs on the Dutchman’s Magpies situation.

Krul, who has a year left on his contract, is set to return to Newcastle for preseason training, following a year out on loan.

The 29-year-old has had a mixed 12 months since fully recovering from the a serious knee injury which saw him miss almost 18 months of football.

Krul had a difficult temporary spell at Eredivisie giants Ajax, finding it difficult force his way into the first-team picture.

He then joined AZ Alkmaar, getting plenty of minutes under his belt to aid his recovery but his form did not receive rave reviews back in his homeland.

Reports in Holland suggest that AZ will not pursue the permanent signing of Krul, instead preferring to chase other targets.

But Anderlecht could offer Krul an escape route with the Belgian outfit keen to recruit a stop-stopper.

Sporting Lisbon are also said to be keen on Krul, with a loan offer reported to be on the table.

Newcastle have been linked with Napoli keeper Pepe Reina and out-of-contract Manchester City man Willy Caballero in recent weeks.

Meanwhile, the Tynesiders have also been linked with moves for Chelsea midfielder Lewis Baker, Liverpool forward Danny Ings and Villarreal man Cedric Bakambu.
