Bittersweet night for Skelton

-

Anth Skelton hit the Knack Premier League’s first maximum checkout of 170 in his game against Neil Rose.

Despite his excellent finish, Skelton couldn’t see out the game and unfortunately lost 5-3.

Skelton didn’t have much luck in his second game either, losing 5-1 against Dave Prins.

It turned out to be an excellent night for Dave Prins when he showed his class with another 5-1 win against Tony Wood.

Prins celebrated the hattrick of wins when he defeated Darren Patton 5-0.

Rose was looking to do the double over the league leader Ryan Joyce, but was undone early on by two big finishes of 132 and 157 which cemented the 5-0 win. Joyce was in top form in his other game when he beat John Watson 5-1.

Watson’s night didn’t get any better when he lost 5-3 to Matthew Hodgson.

Hodgson then went on to lose 5-2 against Spiller Henderson, who then went on to defeat Graeme Hills 5-0.

Paul McGowan won 5-3 against Allen George, crushed Dan Gillibrand (5-0) and was held to a 4-4 draw by Dougie Hall.

Philly Dunn surprised Tony Wood to claim a 5-2 win, then beat Andrew Ambler 5-2.

Graeme Mullen beat Ross Guy 5-1, but Mullen then went on to lose 5-3 to Will Neave.

Paul Williams, the Knack Premier league’s most successful player, was in his usual form when as he produced two superb displays, beating high flying Chris Vaughan (52) and Neave (5-1).

It wasn’t all bad for Vaughan though, he did manage to win his other match against Arran Samuels 5-3.

Dave Richardson produced a fine performance in beating Graeme Hills 5-2 and then done just enough to beat Eddie Ashman 5-3.

Eddie Ashman had even less luck in his other game, losing 5-2 to Allen George, despite recording the two best legs of the game, a 15 and a 20 dart leg.

Darren Patton put his earlier humbling defeat behind him as he played well during a 4-4 draw with Dave Thompson.

It was a night of draws for Thompson, he also drew his other game 4-4 with Andrew Ambler.
