Jaycee’s charity video is in the pink
TEENAGER RELEASES SINGLE TO SUPPORT BREAST CANCER CHARITIES
A Sunderland teenager has teamed up with Mr Motivator for a charity single.
The fitness guru, aka Derrick Evans, who rose to fame on breakfast television, gives an introductory message to support Jacee Pink’s single in aid of breast cancer charities.
The 14-year-old from Humbledon travelled to London to shoot the video for the single, Paint the Night Pink, which has already been viewed by more than 15,000 people on YouTube.
As part of the video, the Farringdon School pupil worked with choreographer Ryan Jenkins, who’s worked with the likes of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, choreographer Matthew Bourne, and dancer Michael Flatley.
The track, which is available to buy via stores including iTunes, Spotify and Googleplay, is penned by Jacee’s mum Amy.
Amy said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the support and response so far.
“In the first 24 hours, the video had been viewed 12,000 times and Asda have also agreed to stock the CD.
“Derrick works all over the world and he will be flying in from Jamaica to film a Pink Workout DVD for the cause, it’s amazing to have his support.”
Speaking about why they chose breast cancer charities to benefit from the proceeds, Amy said: “Like most people, we know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, so it’s something we feel strongly about.
“Our surname is also the breast cancer charity colour, so it worked perfectly.
“Jacee is very experienced in singing and has sang in competitions including Teen Star, but this song is even more meaningful because it’s for charity.”
The video also features a cameo from well-known local fund-raiser Colin BurginPlews, known as The Man in the Pink Dress, from South Shields, who has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
Young dancers from id Dance Company and Showstoppers Sunderland CIC also feature in the video alongside Jacee.
