Everton shows its class

-

Everton are nicknamed the Toffees and, as far as Bradley Lowery and his family are concerned, they have stuck to their word.

They promised to host a celebrity match in honour of the wee Sunderland fan who captured the hearts of millions.

The event is going ahead with a host of stars donning Sunderland and Everton strips to raise money for the Bradley Lowery Foundation.

Everton have proved time and time again that they are a Premier League outfit both on and off the pitch.

Last year’s donation of £200,000 to Bradley’s family as the five year old battled cancer was a huge gesture.

The cash was to be used to fund an op that would hopefully cure the youngster. Sadly the gesture was in vain as Bradley failed to defeat the condition he fought so bravely against.

Bradley may no longer be with us, but Everton continue to deliver the goods.

Former Everton midfielder and club ambassador Graham Stuart summed up the feelings of many when talking about Bradley and the charity match.

He said: “I had the honour of meeting Bradley on a couple of occasions when he visited Goodison Park and as I parent I know what he went through has had a profound effect on me and my family.

“This game at Goodison Park will be a chance to celebrate Bradley’s life as well as raise some funds for the Bradley Lowery Foundation to help young children who were in a similar situation to Bradley.”

Given the love shown for Bradley and the fantastic support from an array of stars from both clubs, we’re sure the event will be a huge success.

It’s another sweet gesture from the Toffees.
