Larkin goal too late to save Sunderland RCA against Seasiders

Sunderland RCA journeyed to Marske United and went down narrowly by 2-1 in the Ebac Northern League Division One.

Craig Gott put the Seasiders ahead from the penalty spot after 12 minutes and then Curtis Round made it 2-0, two minutes later.

RCA pulled one back through Colin Larkin with 10 minutes to go, but they could not force an equaliser.

Ryhope CW entertaine­d Stockton Town and came from 2-0 down to win the game by 3-2.

Max Craggs in the first minute gave the Teessiders the lead and then Kevin Hayes made it 2-0 on 38 minutes.

However, Ryhope came out all guns blazing and Joseph Melvin scored a hat-trick with goals in the 50th, 61st and the winner a minute later, to claim all three points. Seaham Red Star hosted Newton Aycliffe and won the game with just five minutes left on the clock, when Ash Davis scored to clinch all three points.

Washington welcomed Dunston UTS and UTS won the game comfortabl­y by 2-0, with the goals coming from Liam Thear and Jake Stafford, in the first half.

West Auckland Town entertaine­d Newcastle Benfield and twice gave away the lead to draw 2-2.

Ben Wood fired them in front after five minutes, only for the prolific Paul Brayson to equalise after 32 minutes.

On the hour mark, Nathan Fisher made it 2-1, but Brayson was on hand again to level things up from the penalty spot, with just four minutes remaining.

In the Ebac Northern League Division Two, Whickham welcomed Darlington RA and won the game by 1-0, with the crucial winner coming in the 83rd minute, through Kallum Broadhead.

Alnwick Town played Bedlington Terriers at home and were winners by 3-0.

Goals from Stephen Young (10), Lewis Coyle (23) and Kieran Hogg (70), wrapped things up.

In the TWR Bi Folds Wearside Football League, Hebburn Town Reserves entertaine­d Stokesley SC and the game finished in a 0-0 goalless draw.
