Easington Colliery Primary School held a fundraising Race for Life and school parade in July. Organisers would like to say a huge thank you to all friends and family of the school and especially to the amazing children. They were fantastic at both. The atmosphere was brilliant. The children were full of energy at the parade, despite the rain, and were excited to show off all their hard work. Thank to everyone who took part or went along and especially to those who volunteered to help class teachers. Parents and families of pupils at Easington C of E Primary School enjoyed a music concert and were entertained by the children, who learn instruments with Durham Music Service. Every child performed wonderfully and demonstrated how much progress they have made this year. Year 5 students from local primary schools recently visited Easington Academy for a taster day on the theme of Wallace and Grommit, The Wrong Trousers. Science sent Wallace and Grommit into space after designing and testing their rocket propulsion mechanisms. Students in Art designed their “new trousers” and took part in a photo shoot, while the English department intrigued students with cracking contraptions. All the Year 5 students were a credit to their schools and had a fantastic time working with staff and students from the Academy. Easington C of E Primary School summer fair raised an amazing £810. Thank you goes to those parents and family members who supported the event with donations of gifts, running stalls, assisting with preparation and supporting during the fair itself. All proceeds will be put into school funds Sensei Rebecca Potts holds Kazuko Karate every Thursday from 5pm to 6pm at Easington Colliery Social Welfare Centre.
