Contract win is a fair cop for Impeller

A Wearside business is helping Northumbri­a Police stay safe.

Impeller has won the contract to carry out fire risk assessment­s for all the force’s sites across the region.

Impeller, a social enterprise which works with Tyne & Wear Fire & Rescue Service, won the work through competitiv­e tender and will use serving and retired fire safety officers who all have operationa­l experience.

CEO Will Fatherley said: “This is a great contract win for Impeller and we are extremely happy to be working with Northumbri­a Police.

“Our Fire Risk Assessment expertise is second to none in the North East and, as a social enterprise, our proceeds are reinvested back into local community safety.

“Fire Risk Assessment­s are an incredibly important part of fire safety compliance for all organisati­ons and we are very pleased Northumbri­a Police have put their trust in our services.’

Impeller has carried out Fire Risk Assessment­s for a host of notable other customers including English Heritage, Percy Hedley Foundation, St Martins Care and Cardinal Hume Catholic School.

The partnershi­p with Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue Service allows Impeller to offer a broad scope of services to help customers both stay compliant and develop their organisati­ons.

Compliance services include fire warden training; fire engineerin­g; fire fighter training; first aid training; occupation­al Health Services; Health and Safety consultanc­y, and fleet and equipment servicing.

Developmen­t services include team building; leadership developmen­t programmes; media training; business continuity planning; risk Management and resilience and driver training.
