For the sake of Paige

-

The list of health problems eight-year-old Paige Harvey has endured, and continues to endure, is heartbreakingly lengthy.

Most of these complications are associated with the chromosome disorder Down’s Syndrome.

As a result, the youngster has had to undergo a series of operations and treatments which have taken their toll on Paige and her family. But as lengthy as the list of ailments may be, the list of joys the youngster gives to all around her is infinitely greater. There’s no way Paige will be defined by her health problems.

As mum Wendy is at pains to tell us, she’s a child who makes the most of her life and brings happiness to all who meet her.

“She loves cuddles and kisses,” says Wendy. “She loves going swimming and loves Mr Tumble.”

Paige is a bundle of joy who oozes personality, but she is a child facing severe problems. And like any other family, Wendy, her husband Mark and their children want the best for Paige.

The complications Paige faces can be eased, but it comes at a cost.

The family is now looking to Switzerland, at new research suggests a procedure could help alleviate her problems. Paige is facing an uncertain future, but he family want to make every day one to remember for the youngster.

Wendy said: “We want to give her some enjoyment out of life and we don’t know how long a life she is going to have.”

The family has fretted over raising funds, concerned that people may say they have no place in asking for money.

They needn’t worry. This is one young child who deserves all the support that can be mustered. And we’re more than happy to help publicise the cause.
