Blades get Heneghan ahead of Cats trip
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder is thrilled with the capture of Motherwell centre-back Ben Heneghan – with a Championship trip to Sunderland looming next weekend.
The 23-year-old, who made 41 appearances in the Scottish Premiership club after joining from Chester in June 2016, has penned a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee.
Bramall Lane boss Wilder said: “He fits our criteria and he is one we are looking forward to working with.”
Fulham have snapped up French free agent winger Yohan Mollo on a two-year contract, following his release by Zenit St Petersburg, plus Wolves winger Jordan Graham on a season’s loan.
High-flying Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy landed England Under-20 defender Callum Connolly on a season-long loan from Everton. Leeds added two deadline-day signings – Hamburg striker PierreMichel Lasogga on a season-long loan and Pawel Cibicki on a four-year contract from Malmo. Birmingham City added Brentford winger Jota to Harry Redknapp’s 11 other summer signings, snapping up the Spaniard, 26, for £6million. They also landed ex-Blackburn midfielder Jason Lowe.
QPR paid around £500,000 to sign Exeter winger David Wheeler from Exeter City on a three-year deal, while Burton Albion boss Nigel Clough secured Tottenham striker Will Miller for an undisclosed fee and Sheffield United defender John Brayford on a free.
Keeper Adam Federici has joined Nottingham Forest from Bournemouth on loan, while Bolton signed Cardiff winger Craig Noone.
