Celebrating outstanding achievement
‘COMMITTED TO BECOMING AN OUTSTANDING SCHOOL’
Wellfield School students and staff are celebrating the school’s best-ever results.
Students have been praised for their “outstanding achievement”, which has been made despite the introduction of tougher exams this year.
Students achieved a record number of A* and A grades and many subject areas have again achieved well above national expectations.
The proportion of students who passed maths results have consistently been well above the national average and 2017 has again seen sustained excellence in this key core subject area with 78% of students achieving grades 9 to 4 (a good GCSE pass).
The proportion of students who achieved a “good” pass in both of the key subjects of maths and English rose by 8% on last year and is well above the average for the county.
All students, parents/ carers and staff should be congratulated for the way they worked together to ensure another set of outstanding results across the curriculum.
Headteacher Linda Rodham was again delighted with the achievement of students. “I would like to congratulate all of our students who are once again a credit to themselves and the school. Many students exceeded their expectations and the school is very proud of the outstanding achievement of students of all abilities.
“The continued progress at Wellfield reflects a fantastic team effort and the hard work and commitment of the whole school community.
“We are a ‘good’ school and everyone at Wellfield is committed to ensure we become an outstanding one”.
