Memorable Mackem night
What a night!
Mackem maestro Dave Stewart pulled out all the stops on Sunday for his 65th birthday show at Sunderland Empire.
The concert, which was co-promoted by Sunderland businessman Harry Collinson, was a true celebration of musical talent, from Sunderland and further afield, with support slots from local acts Social Room, Lilliput and Picnic.
There were also surprise appearances from homegrown The Lake Poets, as well as Johnny Burrell from Razorlight, who performed a smashing rendition of Don’t Come Around Here No More, made famous by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Dave continued the celebrations at The Peacock with a Mackem-inspired retro buffet of pork pies and pease pudding. You can take the boy out of Sunderland ...
