Wood in fine form as Knack League reaches its climax
Tony Wood was in blistering form in the penultimate week of this season’s Knack Premier League.
He enjoyed a 5-0 win over multiple Lakeside World Championship Qualifier Davy Richardson, then beat Anth Skelton 5-1.
Allen George secured his place in the Grand Finals night with a 5-0 win over Graeme Hills.
George then pulled off a great win beating third-placed Dave Prins 5-3.
Paul Williams remains in second place after two superb wins, Williams fought off Philly Dunn for a 5-3 win before whitewashing Alan Smith.
The battle for fourth spot will go down to the last week with Richard Selby and Chris Vaughan.
Both players opened up with 5-1 wins, with Vaughan beating Skelton and Selby dispatching David Brown before they faced off against each other.
Vaughan raced into a 4-1 lead but Selby produced a tremendous display to win and maintain his league standing.
Ryan Joyce beat Graham Mullen 5-2 then beat Darren Patton 5-1.
Matthew Hodgson picked up maximum points, firstly he beat Graeme Hills 5-1 then had an excellent 5-1 win over Eddie Ashman.
Paul McGowan had to settle for two draws against Davey Thompson and Graeme Hills.
Neil Rose won both his games, beating Dougie Hall 5-0 before defeating Graham Mullen 5-3.
Spiller Henderson and Davey Thompson secured their top 11 spots with victories over Rob McCluskey and David Brown respectively. Anth Skelton had two wins.
