In the Durham County Cup, it was an awful day for Wear United as they were hammered 10-0 against relentless Chilton side. Sean White done what he could for Wear United to earn starman.

Terminus also conceded double figures as Paul Muir’s treble was in vain as the Consett Demi romped to a thumping 10-3 win.

McDermott’s solitary goal for the Willow Pond wasn’t enough to get anything from their game with Darlington Albion. It finished 6-1.

However, Martin Hope’s double against Dubmire helped the Victoria Gardens to another win to see them into the next round. Adam Campbell also found the net in a rare outing to seal the win.

The Travellers Rest, from Hartlepool, feared the worst as they came up against sizzling Southwick. Anth Ross was cooking on gas as he cracked six glorious goals and scored a couple of chips in the process against the Hartlepool keeper to show his finishing prowess wasn’t a flash in the pan.

John Butler sent the Southwick faithful into raptures with his audacious overhead kick which nestled into the net and Clayton Davis rounded off the scoring.

The Royal Marine put on a great performanc­e to run out 5-0 winners over Haswell Oddfellow Arms. Clifton, Haswell, Howell and a Gav Stoker brace secured their place in the net round.

Rae and Lamb hit fine efforts to keep Washington Blue Bell in the game but the Allstars from Houghton were too good. It finished 5-2 and the Blue Bell had Lamb starring.

Supersub Jake Smith was toast of the Kings Arms as he came off the bench to earn his side a win with his well-taken double to cancel out the Seaham Westlea’s opener.

Oddies were another Sunderland side dumped out of the county cup with home defeat to Hartlepool Mowbray. David Snowdon double gave Oddies a good start but the visitors recorded a 6-2 win.

Paul Stokoe’s four-goal haul inspired Redhouse Last Orders to an easy 7-2 win. Anth Mullen hit another two followed by a Gav Quinn effort to silence South Hetton.

TC Plastics’ Reece Thompson’s excellent form continued against Seaham The George as he was unplayable at times and scored a hat-trick in the process. Robinson, Stoke, Stephenson, Farquar and Stevens added to his goals in an 8-1 win.

Kyle Lax’s starman performanc­e set the Board Inn on their way to a close win over Stanley RAFA. Calum Drury and Stuart Pearson hit a goal in each half to win it 2-1.

The Victory Club had Karl Addison to thank for his two goals to snatch the win of the The George side from Stockton. Thompson had cancelled out the away side’s goal and Addison came to the rescue.

The Railway Club ran away with the win in an all-Sunderland tie against Thorney Close. Dan Smith, Jake Baker, a double from Anth Rogerson and a late effort from Dean Smith did the damage to Thorney. Luke McCabe and Corey Steel replied for Thorney.

The Port of Call left it left to grab a deserved 2-1 win over Tindale. They had to call onto substitute­s to score to make sure of the win. Hatcher and Hacket entered the fray and made an immediate impact as they scored one a piece to dump Tindale out of the cup.

The Jolly Potters booked their place in the next round over Trimdon Royal Oaks. Luke Sanders rolled back the years with a tidy brace. The home side hit two goals to level things but captain Lax and Chapman made sure of the 4-2 win with late strikes.

Teal Farm go marching into the next round after an easy 6-1 win over Hartlepool Raglan. It turned into the Dan show as Dan Pearson earned star man, Dan Thompson and Dan Duffield both hit braces and the scoring was rounded off after Cuthbertso­n and Bulch finished there efforts.

Myles Nelson scored twice to keep Ryhope in the game but the Lambton outfit were too good and overturned the deficit and win 5-2.

Connor Wadey and Ryan Allman goals weren’t enough for Whitburn Panthers as they gave away their lead as it finished 2-2 in normal time. Waldridge Park took the win after beating the hosts 5-4 on spot kicks.

Goals from Stephen Moody and Davey Stevens weren’t enough to send Farra Detached through to the next round as Murton put on a great display to win 3-2.

AFC Donkins 3-3 Gateshead Leam Lane 2-3 pens

AFC Donkins scored a late equaliser against Leam Lane but were let down on the spot kicks.

The Lakeside made it hard for themselves against the tricky Hebburn side when Danny Simpson saw red and Hebburn Iona scored with ease. Barras and Ben Collier replied to keep the away side on their toes but their goals were in vain.
