Florists fail to bloom after bright start as Petre pegs them back

In the Premier Division, Andy Place fired an early goal for RCA Grangetown Florists but Farra Paragon grafted throughout to grab an equaliser to earn a point after Kieron Petre’s great effort flew past Turney in the RCA goal.

SR Dons beat The Lansdowne 2-1 after Shaun Pickford ran the show. John Noble and Craig Watson were on target and Chris Rowntree scored on his debut for Tom Smiths side

In the First Division, Ryhope Top House made easy work of Ashbrooke Hendon. Michael Brown scored two beauties to set Ryhope on their way and then Mitchell and Young put Hendon out there misery. Carrick scored Hendons only goal.

The Stella are still finding their feet in the first division and the didn’t have enough to beat the tricky New Town side.

Wheedle and Dunlop had the Stella cruising but Holland and a late equaliser from Josh the Boss Winlow made sure the points were shared.

Myers were too strong for Hendon Athletic in Division Two as another makeshift defence handed Myers an overall easy win.

Hendon had plenty of chances to get something from the game but their bad luck continues. Whittle and a Smith hat-trick gave Myers the win.

AFC Wearside went down 4-1 at Grange Park, whose excellent form continues as the claimed another three points in the Second Division.

They had Conlon, Collins and a Shaun Fisk brace to brush aside AFC Wearside who had Smith shine.

In the Third Division, The Free Gardeners produced there best performanc­e of the season so far with a dominant display over Penshaw CC, winning 5-1. Jack Croucher hit his first career hat-trick and had a hand in the other goals from Mitchell and Gregory. Andy Hayden scored Penshaw’s goal and Snelling was man of the match.

Park View 11-3 Millfield Oddies

It was goals galore as Park View hammered poor Millfield Oddies 11-3.

The home side took advantage of a depleted Oddies side and found the net with ease. Jack Callaghan and Jordon Southern both hit hat-tricks then Conlin grabbed a brace, Jones, Benson and Robson put Oddies out of their their misery. Washington New Tavern recorded their second league win as they beat Wearmouth CW 5-0 on their own patch. Doubles from Trewitt and Stoddart set them on their way and Shaun Davies goal capped a miserable day for Wearmouth.

AFC Houghton are still looking to add to their only win in the Fourth Divisionso far but they need to wait a little longer after Nookside claimed maximum points in a 6-2 win.

Morrison and Gibbons scored for Houghton in between goals from Nooksides Bunge, Hiles, Burn, Newby and Aaron Clasper’s double.

Washington Arms had to dig deep to take maximum points from Herrington CW. They took a 2-1 win after the excellent Lewis McGeoch scored twice and Herrington called on Adam Glendennin­g.

Millview are finding their feet as they are starting to pull a few results together to make them look like a force in for fourth division. Sean Brook scored 3 to earn the points against Dolphin, and Conlin wrapped things up with his effort. The Grange 3-1 Witherwack Witherwack were involved in another feisty affair and it was the Grange who were up for the battle.

A player from either side got their marching orders but it didn’t affect The Grange as they won comfortabl­y. Galley, Muldown and Wright found the net for the home side and Jac Fluery responded for the Wackers as they went down 3-1.

In the Total Sport Challenge Cup, Hylton Castle TWR beat Pennywell Comrades 11-1.

It was an easy day at the office for the Premier League side with goals courtesy of Danni Lay (2), Marc Moon (3), Tom Callaghan (2), Raine, Cresswell, Greener and Kev Gordon. Pennywell had Smith on target.
