Jordan’s stunner sets up Gardens’ super County Cup win

Victoria Gardens made a big statement with a convincing 4-1 Durham County Sunday Cup win over previously unbeaten Stanley Oxhill Central.

Richie Jordan scored a sublime effort to cap a great game, with Humble, Moan and Hope also netting.

Liam Houghton’s fantastic hat-trick inspired Port of Call to an impressive victory, 3-1 against South Shields Caer Urfa, clinching a home tie against Ferryhill Celtic.

TC Plastics’ County Cup dream continued with a brilliant 3-0 win at Easington Southside.

Josh Farquhar, Reece Thompson and star man Steven Anderson all found the net.

The Park enjoyed a stroll as Vince Pattison’s lads hammered Jarrow Civic 8-1 away.

Ryan McCollin and Lewis Fairley hit their usual doubles, with Micky Pattison, Dillon Clark, Lewis Ross and Dan Ross increasing the lead.

Sunderland Railway Club earned a battling 3-2 win at Wrekenton Stormont Main.

Star man Scott Wallace, Connor Glendennin­g and Jake Baker hit the vital goals.

The Royal Marine secured a great win, 2-1 against a good Easington Welfare side. Liam Grant and Gary Richardson rallied Marine after an early deficit.

Washington Juniors Teal Farm sealed another victory over Hartlepool opposition, coming from behind to beat The Mowbray 3-1, thanks to Dan Hill (2) and Jack Ramsden.

The Stella secured an easy 7-1 win at Hetton Lyons.

Star man Rob Russell’s hattrick started the rout. Liam Alexander, Ewan Price, Shaun Spoors and Gavin Teasdale hit the other goals.

Marc Macdonald was star man, but Victory Club succumbed 3-0 at Houghton Chilton Lodge.

Redhouse Last Orders didn’t have enough to overcome Jarrow The Lakeside, but they only lost 3-2 to a lucky, late goal.

Paul Stokoe and Marc McNulty kept Redhouse in the game.

Jolly Potters’ adventure was cut short in a 3-1 loss at Chilton WMC.

Ryan Bussey hit Potters’ only goal and little brother Neal Bussey saw red to cap a miserable day.

Nathan Ridley hit the only goal for Kings Arms as they were dumped out 3-1 by visitors Billingham Station. Steven Jeffries shone for the Kingsmen.

Terminus won an excellent game 5-4 at Herrington CW in Division Four.

Herrington had only themselves to blame as they had Sean Clifton sent off, just they had a chance to get something from the game.

Herrington had James Morrison (3) and James Lyall on target, but Nathan Stavers hit a brace to inspire the visitors, backed by Paul Muir, Ryan Parkin and Joe Stoker.

It was goals galore at Thompson Park as Mill View CIU and The Grange played out a 4-4 draw.

Conlin, Hardy and Middlemas (2) had Mill searching for another three points, but Grange hit back through Sanderson, Holmes and twogoal Atchison.

The Dolphin regained winning ways with an easy 7-2 win over Nookside.

Chris Wilkin (3), Thubron, Wardle, Hourigan and Wayne Davis sparked Dolphin, while Nookside’s Jack Barnes hit a brace.

AFC Houghton’s latest heavy defeat, 9-0 to Washington Arms, means they have now shipped 45 goals in eight games.

Washington moved top, led by four-goal Lewis McGeoch, Philliskir­k, Tench, Thompson, Young and Terrell.

Witherwack demolished Washington Juniors Blue Bell Inn 10-0, with four-goal Graham Stephenson and Nathan Robinson (3) leading the way.

Jac Fleury, Lee Catcheside and Leon Johnstone also netted. The floodgates opened and goals came thick and fast. Paul Watson shone for Blue Bell.
