There will be mince pies, stalls for cakes, jams, tombola, white elephant etc. On December 10 at 5pm the Community Association will hold a Carols and Candles event with mulled wine and mince pies in at the parish hall. Christ Church monthly Friday lunch will be served from 11.30am to 1pm this Friday. There will be a Christmas raffle and tombola. Services for Sunday (Christ the King) for the Joint Benefices of Christ Church, New Seaham and St Andrew’s, Dalton-le-Dale, are: Celebration of Holy Communion, 10am in Christ Church and evening prayer will be at 6pm. Holy Communion is celebrated every Wednesday at 10am followed by a chat, tea and biscuits. Services for St John’s and All Saints for Sunday are: 9.30am, sung mass at All Saints and at St John’s solemn mass and Sunday school. Seaham Family History Group meets every Wednesday, from 9.30am to noon, and every second Monday of the month from 4pm to 6.30pm in Seaham Library. The chaplain of the Seafarers Centre is seeking Christmas gifts for the seafarers, who will be away from home over the Christmas period. Gifts may be handed in at the Dock Gate House. Eastlea Community Centre, Cedar Court, Portland Avenue, Deneside, is looking for children interested in performing a nativity play and sing carols for residents on December 16 to go along to rehearsals on a Thursday from 4pm to 5.30pm.
