Accidental Agent on a mission at Kempton

-

Accidental Agent can post his best effort yet by winning the British Stallion Studs EBF Hyde Stakes at Kempton tomorrow.

Eve Johnson Houghton’s charge was on fire during the closing months of the Flat campaign, winning two of his last four starts as well as hitting the bar in a Listed heat at Newbury.

The three-year-old was last seen when running an excellent race in the highly-competitive Balmoral Handicap on Champions Day at Ascot, finishing a two-and-a-quarter-length fourth after meeting with a bit of trouble two furlongs from home.

That was his first start at a mile, but the trip certainly seemed to suit and with the conditions of this race giving him a slight edge, Accidental Agent could be hard to beat.

Suegioo was not beaten far at Pontefract on his last run and should be in the mix again in the 32Red Handicap.

Richard Fahey’s eight-yearold has no secrets from the handicapper nowadays and has not actually won since claiming the Chester Cup back in 2014.

However, he has shown he is in the right frame of mind in recent weeks and after giving Dominating a head start at Pontefract, it was heartening to see him close to within three-quarters of a length at the line.

Sceau Royal can get back on the winning trail in the Highflyer/Million In Mind 4-Y-O & 5-Y-O Novices’ Chase at Warwick.

Alan King may well have been a touch disappointed his charge failed to fend off North Hill Harvey by a neck at Cheltenham last time out, but given he was conceding 5lb to the winner, who subsequently claimed a Cheltenham Grade Two in real style over the weekend, it looks a very smart run indeed.
