Santa is on his way and he will be out and about on his sleigh, accompanie­d by his helpers from Seaburn Rotary, touring the Fulwell, Seaburn and Roker streets to meet as many people as possible. He will be at the following places: Sunday from 4pm to 7pm, Alston Crescent and all streets between there and Dovedale Road; Monday, December 11, from 6pm to 8pm, The “D” streets between Sea Road and Dykelands Road including terraced streets north of Sea Road; Tuesday, December 12, from 6pm to 8pm, Dovedale Road and all streets on the North side around Seaburn Dene; Wednesday, December 13, from 6pm to 8pm, Side Cliff Road down to Roker Park Road and the terraced streets on the west side back towards Neale Street; Friday, December 15, from 6pm to 8pm, Roker Baths Road and the streets on the south side as far as Roker Avenue; Sunday, December 17, from 4pm to 7pm, All streets on South Bents estate. Santa’s tours will depend on good weather and suitable access to some streets where there are parked vehicles. The 21st St Andrew’s Cubs’ Carol Service is in St Andrew’s Church Hall. Join them tomorrow at 6.30pm for mince pies, tea/coffee and a sing-song. Entrance is £1 per person at the door. All welcome. All Saints Ladies’ Fellowship will meet tomorrow in the Vestry Meeting Room at 7.30pm for carols and cards. All ladies are welcome. Wearside Field Club next meets on Tuesday, December 12, at 7.30pm in Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street. There will be an ‘Out and About with the Field Club’ picture show followed by tea/coffee and mince pies. A Christingl­e Service at St Andrew’s Church, Roker, is on Sunday at 4pm. All are welcome. Sunderland Philatelic Society meet in Roker Methodist Church at the junction of Lonsdale Road and Roker Park Road tomorrow at 7 pm. St Peter’s Ward Surgery will be held in Enon Baptist Church on Saturday from 10.30am to 11.30am with Coun Julia Jackson in attendance. St Andrew’s Wednesday Afternoon Social is from 1pm to 3pm in the Priestman Hall. Please go along and join in with crafts (take your own knitting/crocheting etc), art group, games or just have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat. Everyone is welcome. Line and couples dancing to country music at the Mill View Club with live artists every Tuesday night along with bingo and a raffle, from 7.30pm to 11pm. Admission is £3 to cover the cost of artist on stage. Go along to Fulwell Library to hear their band ‘Bookworms’ play on Wednesday afternoons from 1pm to 3pm. All are welcome. Extended opening times for Fulwell Community Library are Mondays and Fridays 10am to 4pm, Wednesdays 10am to 5pm, Saturdays 10am to 1pm. A 50/50 Tea Dance is at the Mill View Club, Fulwell, on Thursday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, £2.50 includes refreshmen­ts. Dance with Johnny and Jean. A Social Dance to be held at Fulwell Community Centre, Chapman Street, off Sea Road, Fulwell, is on Wednesday from 8pm to 11pm. It is 50/50 dancing to recorded music. Tea and coffee will be served, or you can take your own refreshmen­ts. There is a raffle and bingo. Tickets £2. Sunderland Pianoforte Society will meet in the Sunderland Pottery Room at Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens, Burdon Road, tonight for their 453rd Recital at 7.15pm. Grace Yeo began her undergradu­ate studies at the Seoul National University and in 2008 was awarded the Barbara Stringer Scholarshi­p for postgradua­te studies in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Since becoming the winner of the Beethoven Society of Europe’s Piano Competitio­n in 2009, Grace has continued to build an internatio­nal career. She has given recitals and concerto performanc­es throughout Great Britain, as well as in France, Italy, Germany, Finland and South Korea. This is her second recital for the society.
