STORY: Big City Survey reveals public pride in Sunderland

Andrew Hutchinson: Nothing wrong with the city, just badly managed. Could be a lot, lot better, resources used correctly.

Pete Bogg: Goes to show that despite the vocal minority world leading moaners, people are positive about the city and the direction it’s moving in.

Mike Littisore: Public pride? Then why are we always let down by our leaders? They missed a gilt edged opportunity by naming that bridge ‘Northern Spire’, Wouldn’t ‘Wear Spire’ have been more loved and appropriate? Try saying ‘Wear Spire’ out loud (‘We aspire’).

STORY: Sunderland tot is first in the world to be diagnosed with genetic condition
