‘Delia out’ chants as Canaries slip again
Brentford moved into the top half of the Sky Bet Championship table after rocking Norwich City with a 2-1 away win last night.
Two goals in five-first half minutes from striker Lasse Vibe gave Brentford a deserved 2-1 win over the misfiring Canaries at Carrow Road.
There were chants of ‘sack the board’ and ‘Delia out’ as the home fans voiced their anger at club owner Delia Smith on a disappointing night for Daniel Farke’s team.
Boss Farke: “In the last games, we were in good shape. This was a big disappointment. The first half was poor. It was weak. It was not good enough.
“The secondhalf performance was better, but the first half determined the game.” The lads were nervous and I blame myself for that. It was an important game for us, but we lost our focus. We didn’t play to our normal level. I don’t criticise my players. I blame myself for this.” The Bees went in front on 36 minutes when Romaine Sawyers picked out Vibe – and a carbon copy goaljustbeforethe break effectively settled the game. Norwich, who have won just one home match since September, improved after the break and got one back in added time through Nelson Oliveira, but they were still jeered off.
Rangers chairman Dave King has been ordered to make an offer for most of the cashstrapped Glasgow club’s shares – at a cost of almost £11million – after losing a court case against the Takeover Panel.
He must submit an offer within 30 days after he was ruled to have acted in concert with three others when they bought a combined stake of 34 per cent of the club in 2015.
