Time to get on with it

-

Are we not all totally fed up with those ‘leave’ voters trying to ridicule the remainers and those remainers ridiculing the leavers.

Each voter made an informed decision on what they thought was best for the country and as we live in a truly democratic country, the government stood by the will of the people.

There is no doubt that both sides made exaggerated claims to promote their position, our economy would crash if we voted leave and on the other side millions of pounds would be released to support the health service, housing and schools if we left.

As it is still far too early to judge let us not continually try to second guess what will be.

Those sanctimonious and self-righteous people who think everyone who voted differently from them are ill informed and those remainers who say they are now embarrassed at being a UK citizen are showing total disrespect and contempt not just for the rest of the country but for our fathers and grandfathers who fought in two world wars to maintain our democracy and independence.

What is also annoying is our Hokey cokey MPs (in out, in out shake it all about) who pay lip service to the referendum result claiming they will support the leave process and then do everything in their power to stifle it – both Labour and Tory MPs.

They are acting like a spoilt child being taken somewhere they don’t want to go, so they whinge, stamp their feet and do everything to ensure the rest of the family cannot enjoy the day.

The referendum was based on leave or stay, not leave, but only if we got a good deal.

MPs should also be made to declare how they vote for every Parliamentary vote relating to Brexit and do so in their local newspapers for all to see.

They have no right to vote against the will of their electorate no matter how much they cloud the issue with ‘good deal or bad deal’.

We voted leave – get on with it Ken Buck
