Topsy-turvy all the way – Cotterill

-

Steve Cotterill has warned Birmingham City fans that they are in for a “topsyturvy” end to the season.

Blues’ survival hopes were dealt another blow following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Millwall, with Fred Onyedinma netting on 77 minutes.

The Blues boss admitted it was a disappointing result as he saw his side slide to a third successive defeat follow- i n g some recent improved form. “We couldn’t get any tempo going in the game,” said Cotterill.

“This surprised me as I’ve not previously seen such a lack of tempo. We didn’t play with enough zip or enthusiasm and this is what disappointed me.

“We didn’t play badly but we didn’t perform anywhere near the level we have previously achieved.

“We looked flat and the ground was quiet with no atmosphere.”

Cotterill added: “We need to go on another good run but it has never been plain-sailing.

“Unfortunately, it is going to be topsy-turvy for the rest of the season.”

Yesterday, Leeds rallied from 2-0 down to force a 2-2 draw against Bristol City in the first home game for new boss Paul Heckingbottom (pictured).

Kemar Roofe scored a late equaliser, adding to Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s goal, after Famara Diedhiou and Bobby Reid had the Robins two up.
