Recruitment specialist Gem Partnership is branching out.

The firm has launched a new training company as part of its long-term plans for growth.

GEM Partnership, which already includes GEM Premium People, GEM Professional Services and GEM Talent Search, has added GEM Training to its portfolio of services, allowing it to offer bespoke training to help people into work, while ensuring the candidates with the right skillset are available to fill client vacancies.

The company, which is based in the same office as GEM Premium People in Peterlee, is being headed up by a highly experienced team of learning and development specialists, who have worked in the training industry for many years.

Two trainers have also been recruited, while other staff have been seconded into roles until the company is established, when further positions are expected to be created during 2018.

Tanya English, one of the trainers, said: “I am really excited to be involved with GEM Training.

“It’s a key addition to GEM’s portfolio of services and means we’re now able to support our clients through every stage of the recruitment process.

“Our business model works because there are real jobs available and what we’re promising is that our services are bespoke to the individual client – it’s about finding the right person for the right job with the emphasis being on quality, not quantity.”

GEM Training is already winning contracts, including with Peterlee-based Profound Group to deliver employability training through the Adult Education Budget, and is working with JobCentre Plus to run sector-based work academies in Peterlee, Seaham, Hartlepool and Billingham.

Operations director Maria Miller said: “We felt that bringing training in-house, managed by the highly experienced team we’ve brought in, was the next step in our longer term plans to grow.

“With the addition of GEM Training, we believe we are in the strongest possible position to service our clients, ensuring our candidates possess the skills our clients need.”
