Stalkers, beat downs and high-octane action
Eddie Ryan in the SSE Arena main event. The big-hearted Ryan himself has been a focal point of 5 Star Wrestling’sformativeweeks, battling not only Gibson but also the man who won the 5 Star Championship in Week two in Newcastle, ‘The All-American American’ Jake Hager. The Plymouth man has also had to cope with a stalker who has dogged his every move, watching him from the crowd during his matches everywhere from Liverpool to Belfast. This individual was finally revealed on TV last week as former ImpactWrestlingstarBram, who came out of the audience to join 5 Star Tag Team Champions Adam Maxted and Charlie Sterling in the ring as they beat down Ryan and, shockingly, Gibson too. Maxted and Sterling — the team collectively known as Max Money — have been on top of a competitive tag team division in 5 Star Wrestling, notching victories over The Masters of Cool (Carlito and Chris Masters), Jody Fleisch and El Ligero, The UK Hooligans and The Kings of the North. The Tap or Snap ‘Submission Division’ has also turned heads thanks to the quality and intensity of the in-ring action. Matches such as Mark Haskins’ title win in a 5 Star Submission Elimination Match in Liverpool, and Matt Riddle’s victory over Haskins in Plymouth, have shown what hold-for-hold squared circle combat is all about. Riddle’s appearance in the South West was one of a number of surprises on the weekly TV show. Grado and Colt Cabana arrived in Sheffield and Alberto El Patron (formerly Alberto Del Rio) made a shock appearance last week in Northern Ireland. 5 Star Wrestling has also introduced a national TV audience to names including the Australian Pop-Punk Powerhouse Joey Axl,theentertainingScottishtrio PureDeadBrilliant, andthemonstrous Swede Tor Atterhagen. The next live TV episode will be on Thursday, March 22 when 5 Star Wrestling comes from the Manchester Arena. In the meantime you can catch up with 5 Star Wrestling on Thursday nights with highlights shows from the past five weeks of action.
