South Hylton A remain top of league with Glendale victory

This week in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League, leaders South Hylton A welcomed Glendale and started well with Norman Leslie pinching the first frame from John Danby 59-45 before an excellent 85 break saw Adam Smith win the second frame against Thomas Gwyn 92-40.

John Wiseman pulled one back for Glendale beating Gavin Dixon 82-32 before a 52 break saw Graham Rutland win the fourth frame against Paul Atkinson 84-20.

In the pairs Adam Smith/ Norman Leslie beat Frank McParlin/Thomas Gwyn 6949 for the 4-1 win.

South Hylton B travelled to Lumley and got off to an excellent start with Bobby Boyce winning the first frame against Roful Hoque, with the aid of a 38 break, 80-19 and Ian Stewart winning the second frame against Neil Lowden 60-35.

Sean Henderson won the third frame for Lumley beating John Harrison 77-48 before Tony Hazard won the fourth frame against Brian Meuse 61-49.

Bobby Boyce/Tony Hazard won the pairs beating Neil Lowden/Brian Meuse 59-24 for an excellent 4-1 win.

Graeme Ablett got Boldon CA off to a good start away at Pennywell Comrades B winning the first frame against Andrew Doran 64-38 before John Campbell levelled the match beating John Cox 68-42.

Derek White moved Boldon back into the lead winning the third frame against Eddie Dodds 68-41 before Chris Hallett had an excellent result beating John Smith on the final black 55-50 to again level the match.

In the pairs Andrew Doran/ Eddie Dodds won Pennywell the match beating Graeme Ablett/Derek White 68-59 for the 3-2 win.

The match between Steels and Seaham Conservati­ves A was expected to be close.

Gary Stockton won the first frame for Seaham beating Tommy Ayre 60-49 before Jimmy Gales levelled the match beating Michael Monaghan 58-16.

Ray Charlton Junior moved Steels into the lead beating Ian Hughes 65-25 before Les Pinder levelled the match winning the fourth frame against Ray Charlton Senior 53-17.

In the pairs Ray Charlton Junior/Vince Flynn won Steels the match beating Michael Monaghan/Les Pinder 49-38 for the win.

Howard Lax won a close first frame for Mill View away to Biddick B but they eventually went down 4-1

The Hetton Centre went down 3-2 at Seaham Conservati­ves B while Kevin Harrop continued his excellent form for Pennywell Comrades A in their 3-2 win at The Victory.

Murton Officials welcomed Biddick A. In the pairs Eddie Williamson/Stephen Clementson won Murton the match beating Rod Turnbull/ Steven Tate on the final black 68-62 for the 3-2 win.
