It’s a work in progress

It’s good to see the council performing again with work in progress at the toilets at the Seaburn ex fountain roundabout.

It is also resurfacing the lower promenade near the Cat and Dog steps. Workers are overjoyed, knowing they may be back in a few months to do it again, and again and again. Good old sea will keep someone employed.

I wonder, has anyone ever thought of using concrete instead of Tarmac. Using concrete maybe, just maybe, every 10 to 20 years, must be cheaper than tarmac every six months.

A road in South Shields was laid many years ago, still going strong. Another near Doncaster M1, doing very well. I can’t say I’ve seen any ‘potholes’ in concrete.

I wonder if that very old water tap near the roundabout toilets will be repaired too, or just left to stand another 30 years.
