Bertrand out of friendlies

Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand has pulled out of the England squad due to a back issue.

The 28-year-old helped Saints to a 2-0 FA Cup victory at Wigan on Sunday and has returned to the club as a precautionary measure.

Ashley Young and Danny Rose remain left-back options in the squad to face Holland and Italy in friendlies. Under-fire Luke Shaw is among the options if Southgate decides to call up an extra player. Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold was drafted into training yesterday.
