Embracing change is secret to success

-

Who holds you back?

It is a question lots of people ask themselves and to which the answer, in most cases, is themselves.

Thinking about the bigger picture, what holds the region back?

I admit I am not a native but have lived locally since 1999 and regard the area as home.

We all know the North East is sometimes seen by the rest of country as some sort of dark place with a constant battering as being a poorly performing region.

The UK is a very different place than even 10 years ago and it will undoubtedly keep changing over the next 10. Not better or worse, just different.

Businesses will need to adapt. Through the use of technology, different forms of finance, availability of a skilled workforce and an ever-changing political and economic environment, one thing that remains consistent is that those who succeed don’t talk, they do.

As humans we are programmed not to really embrace change, but with it comes opportunity.

There are many fantastic success stories across the region and it isn’t all about the major multinationals. It is very easy in business to lose track of what you are doing and I would urge everyone to take a step back every now and then and think about what you have achieved and where you want to be.

Business is hard, but then so is life.

We have been helping companies to understand about what makes them different and how better to promote themselves for the past 15 years and there is no secret formula, just belief, determination and hard work.

The region needs to stop holding itself back, have greater belief and knock down the barriers, not build them.

We need to better promote ourselves and share our successes.
