Please heed their wishes

- By Richard Ord

The value of kind words can never be underestimated.

For the family of Taylor Bowe, coming to terms with every parent’s worst nightmare, those words have meant the world.

The family have express an overwhelming feeling of gratitude to all Taylor’s friends who let them know just how much the 15-yearold meant to them.

Just how much is revealed by mum Bronia who told us: “The only thing keeping us going is how many people are saying all the beautiful things that Taylor has done and how he has helped them. “It is lovely to hear.” Emotions are understandably running high at this tragic loss. Too high in some instances.

As we reveal today, police have had to get involved, and there have been some arrests following reports of abuse, criminal damage and anti-social behaviour. The police have not appealed for people to be respectful at any gatherings in memory of this young man.

It is something that should not need to be said, but with young people in a very emotional state, it now needs to be said.

We don’t know the circumstances of these instances, but we do no the effect it is having on the family. The words of Taylor’s dad are worth repeating, and for those involved, worth digesting.

“As Taylor’s father I would just like say that I am saddened by the trouble caused at these events held for my son’s memory and find it disrespectful.

“I know it is only the minority but please stop.

“We want him to be remembered for the kind, caring and loving boy he was. Please respect our wishes.”

We trust those valued words are heeded.

RIP Taylor Bowe.
