Take Titus to triumph in Masters at Lingfield

-

Flavius Titus is just one of many unexposed horses Roger Varian has to go to war with this season and he can get his campaign off to a flyer in the US Masters 6 Places At 188Bet Handicap at Lingfield.

A son of the crack sprinter Lethal Force, he has already shown he stays further than his sire by winning over seven furlongs at Kempton.

He made his debut at Nottingham in June yet despite being well fancied, he could only finish middivision behind the useful Great Prospector.

Given plenty of time to strengthen up after that , he was not seen again until Doncaster in October where he beat all bar Breath Caught, a half-brother to Twice Over.

Out again a month later, Flavius Titus had no trouble going one better despite being friendless in the betting and his jockey dropping his whip.

There is a chance, given how he improved markedly with each run last season, that a mark of 82 could seriously underestimate him.

Mark Johnston put Kalagia away after she disappointed in a valuable nursery at York in August which suggests all might not have been well with her afterwards.

She had earlier beat a 74-rated rival comfortably in a maiden and finished second at Pontefract, after which she was allotted a mark of 77.

The handicapper has certainly given her a chance dropping her 3lb for the York run, especially if there was something amiss, and it is not stretching the imagination to envisage getting on the front end and pulling clear in the Daily Racing Specials At 188Bet Fillies’ Handicap.

It has obviously not been plain sailing for Charlie Appleby with Night Story to date, but he can continue his progress in the Champions League Betting At 188Bet Novice Stakes.

He was gelded before making his debut, but showed a fair amount of ability when second behind a stablemate on his racecourse bow before winning easily when upped to 12 furlongs.

He looks capable of defying a penalty.

Archie Watson enjoyed a ground breaking season on the all-weather through the winter, culminating on Finals Day with a win for Corinthia Knight.

He fields an interesting runner at Southwell in French import Royal, who contests the Grand National Betting At freebetting. co.uk Novice Stakes.

It is hard to weigh up her French form, but Watson has won through the winter with similar types.

Bolder Bob enjoyed a good season last year for David Barron and can continue his progression in the 2018 Catterick Twelve Furlong Series Handicap at Catterick.

Conditions will be testing but his two wins came on soft last term and he was thought good enough to run in a £100,000 race at York.

The best bet on Kempton’s evening card could be Roger Charlton’s Kazawi in the 32Red Handicap.

Al Kazeem’s brother is still a maiden after four starts, but his sibling got better with age.
