Boyce on top form to help South Hylton B to victory

This week in the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker League, leaders South Hylton A postponed their match against Mill View due to a shortage of players but have rearranged it for Monday, April 16.

South Hylton B travelled to Pennywell Comrades B and started well with Bobby Boyce winning the first frame against Chris Hallett, with the aid of a 28 break, 76-38 and Ian Stewart winning a close second frame against Andrew Doran 38-29.

A 25 break helped Anthony Longstaff dominate the third frame against Tony Hazard 882 before John Harrison won a close fourth frame against Eddie Dodds on the final black 44-39.

In the pairs Bobby Boyce/ Tony Hazard beat Andrew Doran/Eddie Dodds 55-19 for the 4-1 win.

Seaham Conservati­ves B welcomed Glendale and got off to an excellent start with Robin Midson winning the first frame against John Danby 64-39 and Justin Ebdy getting an excellent win, beating Tommy Gwyn 77-41. Doug Scott increased Seaham’s lead winning the third frame against John Wiseman 63-36 before Tony Grimes continued his good run beating Paul Atkinson 66-38. In the pairs, a 27 clearance by Paul Atkinson, when paired with Frank McParlin, got Glendale a consolatio­n point beating Colin Dobson/Bobby Carne on the final black 43-39 to make the final score 4-1 to Seaham.

Kevin Harrop got Pennywell Comrades A off to a good start away at The Hetton Centre winning the first frame against Paul Stoves 6349 before Joe Tuner increased the lead winning the second frame against Steven Rushworth 66-45.

Dean Taylor was in excellent form winning the third frame against Paul Nord 68-6 before Stuart Taylor won the fourth frame beating Joe Nord 65-45.

In the pairs Dean Taylor/Kevin Harrop beat Paul Stoves/Ernie Bonsall 66-37 to complete the whitewash.

A 31 break by Steven Tate helped Biddick A start well away to The Victory winning the first frame against Les Burnikell 65-45. Darren Dowell teamed up with Ray James to win the pairs to reduce the defeat to 3-2.

Seaham Conservati­ves A travelled to Murton Officials and won 4-1 win. The match between Biddick B and Boldon CA was postponed and the match between Steels and Lumley has been re-arranged for Wednesday, April 18.
