Home celebrates top 20 success

-

A facility in Peterlee has been placed in the top 20 recommended care homes in the North East in the carehome. co.uk awards 2018.

Grampian Court achieved its success through votes from residents and relatives.

The recognition is based on reviews received from the residents and their family and friends, demonstrating real life opinions and thoughts from those who use the home.

Grampian Court manager Judith Tully said: “I come to work every morning with the determination to give my residents the best possible care.

“With the support of my kind, compassionate team, we have strived to make Grampian Court what it is today.

“Thankfully, that is evident in how our residents and their loved ones view Grampian Court and I am delighted on behalf of the whole team to receive this award.”

Managing director of HCOne, the home’s parent company, Stephen Butterworth, said: “This result is fantastic news, and well done to all at Grampian Court.

“I would like to thank the whole team for their commitment and hard work to achieve such an impressive award.

Grampian Court recently celebrated its first anniversary with a country western party, where the team dressed up in their best cowboy attire.

They have also created a ‘Forget Me Not’ café to help residents and members of the community with dementia build up a support network.

It provides the opportunity for individuals living with the condition to curb feelings of loneliness and isolation whilst meeting like-minded people and undertaking stimulating activities to aid relaxation.
