Boro flop De Sart still keen to find new club
Julien De Sart has confirmed he wants to leave Middlesbrough as his future remains uncertain.
The 23-year-old joined Middlesbrough in February 2016 but has failed to impress at the Riverside Stadium having made just a handful of first team appearances.
He was shipped out on loan to Zlute Waragem last season, where he made just seven appearances, and the Belgian club have decided not to take up the option to turn the deal into a permanent one.
That leaves De Sart facing an uncertain future, but the midfielder admitted he is keen to move abroaddespite having a year remaining on his Middlesbrough contract.
Speaking to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, De Sart said: “That turned out to be the last month from conversations.
“Currently I have no idea where my future lies. “My contract with Middlesbrough runs for another year. I prefer to go abroad.”
Meanwhile, Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore could be called-up to Spain’s pre-World Cup training camp.
The 22-year-old has represented Spain at youth level and could be set for a shock senior call-up from boss Julen Lopetegui.
Reports from newspaper SPORT in Spain claim that Lopetegui is looking to call-up an additional seven players for a pre-tournament training camp after naming his 23-man squad for this summer’s World Cup.
With Real Madrid in Champions League final action this weekend, the Spanish squad is somewhat depleted with six players forced to team up with the national squad late after they have taken on Liverpool.
Some of those called-up could even feature for Spain against Switzerland on June 3, but the Madrid players will return to the squad ahead of travelling to Russia on June 7.
Lopetegui has not confirmed which, if any, players will be called-up to the training camp but SPORT suggest that Traore is one of those being considered.
