Riverside ODI a sell-out for visit of Aussies to Durham

-

England’s one-day international against Australia at Durham’s Emirates Riverside has sold out.

Remaining tickets for the fourth Royal London ODI have been snapped up and there are now none remaining for the match on Thursday, 21 June, a second successive international sell-out at Emirates Riverside after the West Indies IT20 fixture in September last year.

With hospitality places also sold out, every seat in the ground will be filled as the two sides prepare to go head-tohead once again after a hardfought winter series.

After a 4-1 win down under and subsequent series victory over New Zealand, England are now the world’s number one ranked side in the 50-over format, overtaking India at the top.

“We are gearing up for another huge event at Emirates Riverside and we’re thrilled that the appetite for international cricket remains strong in the North East,” said David Harker, Durham CCC chief executive.

“It’s a huge game between two of the world’s biggest sides and we are again looking forward to showcasing the venue to the spectators and also on television around the world.”

England yesterday named a 14-man squad for the series, with Durham’s Ben Stokes and Mark Wood both included.

Eoin Morgan will be fit despite his broken finger to lead England. England squad v Australia: EJG Morgan (Captain), MM Ali, JM Bairstow, JC Buttler (wkt), TK Curran, AD Hales, LE Plunkett, AU Rashid, JE Root, JJ Roy, BA Stokes, DJ Willey, CR Woakes, MA Wood
