Diamond award-winning Weight Watchers consultant Lorna Parker runs sessions at Doxford Park Community Centre every Friday at 9.45am. The group has recently been celebrating the success of 37-year-old dad, David Lewis, who joined the group in April 2015. David said: “I weighed in at 14st 2. I had the wrong dad bod and beer belly. I joined as I felt 50 not 37. I was getting back pain, knee pain, lacked energy, I’d even been suffering panic attacks. As a dad of three I wanted to be a good role model for my children, and be healthy and fit to do everything with them that they wanted me to do. It was a big shock to the system at first but after the first couple of weeks, once I’d adjusted to the plan and points system (with the help of my wife who’s a Veteran Weight Watchers gold member) all was good. I stuck to it, and so hit my goal weight a few months later. Losing the weight made me feel so much better in myself. The aches and pains had gone, I had more get up and go, but it also started me on a bit of fitness journey. I joined a gym and took up karate. The two best things about Weight Watchers for me are the Smartpoints Flex and the support provided by the weekly meetings and my Weight Watchers coach , Lorna Parker. Lorna’s weekly meeting keeps me motivated to stay in the zone and eat healthy. She has a flare for keeping things interesting and fun so much so that my wife and I look forward to our weekly Weight Watchers. So today I’m almost where I want to be, at 12st 5lbs.” New members are welcome.
