‘PSYCHIC PIG’ BOB PREDICTS DEFEAT

PSYCHIC PIG TROTTERS OUT A ‘LOSE’ PREDICTION AGAINST BELGIUM FOR WORLD CUP GAME

It may be two on the trot for the Psychic Sunderland Pig after he confidently predicted England’s successful World Cup start.

But that hasn’t stopped Big Bob from reluctantly forecasting a Three Lions defeat in tonight’s final group game against Belgium.

As our video footage shows, the 11-year-old Maori pet pig did not seem to have the stomach at first to foretell such a treasonous outcome.

Just as before England’s triumphs over Tunisia and Panama, Big Bob was released from his pen and asked to select one of three bowls of his favourite sow rolls.

Unbeknown to him, “win”, “lose” or “draw” labels were taped to the back of each.

This time, however, rather than heading straight to the “win” bowl, Big Bob ran away from all three before being coaxed back by owner William Weightman to finally make a choice.

Mr Weightman, 44, who runs Down at the Farm, near Houghton, with wife Catherine, said: “Perhaps Bob just did not want to be unpatriotic given all the World Cup fever in the country at the moment.

“But eventually he had to give in to his gut instinct and predict a defeat.”

Big Bob was selected for his role as he is usually the first at the fun farm to sense when it is mealtime.

Down at the Farm also has form for predicting football results after big mate Silver the Psychic Donkey began to forecast Sunderland’s run of six successive derby victories against rivals Newcastle back in 2013.

Defeat tonight might also be no bad thing as it could send England into the supposedly easier half of the knock-out draw.

So a Belgium win might not, after all, be one of Big Bob’s rasher predictions.

Down at the Farm, off the A690, in Stoneygate Lane, near Houghton, is open 10pm-5pm at weekends and during school holidays.
